Hebron, CT (PRWEB) March 16, 2010

Spring is a very busy time of year when many homeowners across the country start forming their list of projects and chores to be done.

The National Association of Home Inventory Professionals reminds homeowners to add performing a home inventory to the top of the list. A comprehensive inventory of assets is critical to ensure a prompt and fair insurance settlement should a fire or loss occur. In addition, many homeowners don’t realize that they are underinsured until an inventory of assets is completed.

The National Association of Home Inventory Professionals can help homeowners quickly complete a comprehensive home inventory. Homeowners can easily search the member directory available on the NAHIP website at http://www.NAHIP.com to find a service provider.

Most homeowners don’t have the time or patience to conduct a home inventory on their own which makes using a service provider a great option to get this tedious task completed. Individuals who want to perform an inventory on their own can use a popular and inexpensive software product such as The Complete Home Journal which greatly simplifies the task and creates the necessary documentation. Visit the Complete Home Journal product website at: http://www.thehomejournal.com for further details.

NAHIP encourages those interested in the documentation services profession to get involved. It is an exciting industry with tremendous growth potential which needs additional service professionals to meet the growing demand. The home inventory services profession offers great pay, flexible hours and the ability to work from a home office. NAHIP recommends the leading home inventory business startup kit, Home Journal Business for those interested in starting their own business. The home inventory business startup kit includes a full set of materials to easily start a new business and includes the leading home inventory business software. Kansas City Home Care, Inc. Celebrates National Home Care Month and the Beginning of Their 22nd Year

Overland Park, KS (PRWEB) October 24, 2010

Each November is National Home Care and Hospice Month, sponsored by the National Association for Home Care and Hospice (NAHC). Kansas City Home Care, Inc. is taking this opportunity to honor their employees and to celebrate the beginning of their 22nd year of providing home care in Kansas City.

The NAHC sponsors the annual campaign to raise awareness of this important vocation and to honor those who have dedicated their lives caring for others. Every year, more than 7.5 million Americans receive daily home care from approximately 1 million caregivers. In Kansas City, there are almost 5 seniors receiving home care for every professional caregiver. As the leading provider of area home care services, Cheryl Smith, M.A., President of Kansas City Home Care, experiences first-hand the challenges and the rewards of her industry.

“When someone you love becomes ill or is simply aging and needs home care, it can be an extremely difficult time for the family,” Smith said. “We field numerous calls every day from folks who are upset and uncertain about what’s best for their parents or a family member. It is very rewarding to help them get their lives back to normal and their loved ones the care they deserve.”

This month, Kansas City Home Care is celebrating the beginning of their 22nd year of providing area home care services.

Smith started the business because as a geriatric care manager, she received complaints from families about the inadequate care their loved ones were receiving at home.

Smith opened the doors of Kansas City Home Care in 1989 in order to provide excellent care for her clients. Since then, her business has grown exponentially. Kansas City Home Care consistently garners local and national recognition for growth and excellence.

According to Smith, it is crucial that families considering home care for their loved ones become educated about their options and know what questions to ask a home care provider. “If you have a loved one who needs home care, you shouldn’t start the process by calling random listings,” she said. “It’s crucial that families educate themselves about their options and ensure that the person caring for their loved one is trained to deliver the appropriate level of care.” Kansas City Home Care offers resources including professional organizations and a list of questions for a potential home care agency. Chandler, AZ (PRWEB) September 7, 2004

Last year, Janet Drez created a prestigious national award to honor one outstanding home-based business owner. This year, the award will fulfill its purpose under a new name: the Home Business Crown Jewel Award.

“Over the past year I’ve received feedback that the original name — the Ruby Slipper Award — might limit participation by male home-based business owners who represent a substantial number of home-based businesses, so I decided it needed to change,” said Drez, a veteran home-based business owner of A Perfect Solution, SBA Home-Based Business Advocate of the Year, and chairwoman of the Home-Based Business Council.

Drez wants the award to raise the awareness about the substantial and growing economic, cultural and relational impact of home-based businesses. While the original name was selected because There’s No Place Like Home for home-based business owners, the new name represents Leading the Home-Based Business Renaissance.

The new name more accurately reflects what’s taking place in today’s marketplace.

“There is a new economic Renaissance occurring now in the United States led by home-based businesses. We need to recognize this momentum with an award not focused on revenue and employee criteria which preclude most home-based business owners from winning business awards,” Drez explained.

The only requirements an applicant must meet to be eligible for the Home Business Crown Jewel Award include:

Â? Owning a home-based business.

Â? Running a current business for at least two years.

Â? Membership in a community, business or women’s association.

The application questions include business overview and personal story, leadership of the company, community involvement, the most rewarding aspect of owning a home-based business, the greatest challenge faced by the business owner, and any advice the applicant would give to someone considering starting their own home-based business.

The 2005 Home Business Crown Jewel Award recipient will be selected by an independent, national judging panel.

A application fee covers administrative and prize costs. Deadline for applicants is Nov. 1, 2004. The award will be presented during a special luncheon presentation at the EntrepreneurÂ?s Small Business Boot Camp on Saturday, Jan. 8, 2005, at the Scottsdale Hilton in Scottsdale, Ariz.

All Home Business Crown Jewel Award applicants will receive a free autographed copy of Drez’s book, Putting The Pieces Together. One winner will receive:

Â? Round trip airfare to Phoenix, Arizona for the winner (or a travel voucher for Phoenix-area winner)

Â? One night’s hotel accommodation at the Scottsdale Hilton

Â? Free admission to the Small Business Boot Camp

Â? Presentation of the Home Business Crown Jewel Award; a jeweled circlet or crown in the Renaissance style.

Kathy Sweeney, owner of The Write Resume, was the 2004 recipient.

San Diego, CA (PRWEB) June 26, 2009

The National Association of Home-Based Business Moms (NAHBM), a recently formed organization to support women who already have a home-based business or want to start one, has announced a new Free Starter Membership is now available at www.nahbm.com.

“We know due to the current economy that money is tight for many families. We also know that now is a great time to start a business. In an effort to help those moms who have recently been laid off or who are looking for an alternative to working outside the home, we are now offering free membership so they can get the support they need,” announced Debbie LaChusa, NAHBM founder and president.

LaChusa believes now is a great time to start a home-based business and she is supported by a recent study by the Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation that found more than half of the companies on the 2009 Fortune 500 list and nearly half of the firms on the 2008 Inc. list of America’s fastest-growing companies were launched during a recession or bear market.

“I started my home-based business 11 years ago and I’ve n ever

experienced a downturn in my business when the economy has slowed down. In fact last year was my second best year ever. Not only do I make more money than I ever made working in a job, I’ve been able to be home with my children. For all these reasons, running a home-based business is a great alternative for moms,” added LaChusa.

The National Association of Home-Based Bus iness Moms was founded

in 2009 and through its panel of 16 Advisory Experts offers education, support and networking to women worldwide. NAHBM currently offers two levels of membership: Free Starter Membership and Premium Membership at 7 for 12 months. Additionally, the NAHBM donates 5 percent of all net profits to support breast cancer awareness, research and prevention. To learn more or join, visit www.nahbm.com.

National Ruby Slipper Award to honor an outstanding home-based business owner

Chandler, Ariz.(PRWEB) October 16 2003– Often seen wearing her own pair of ruby slippers, Janet Drez has created the prestigious national “Ruby Slipper Award” to honor an outstanding home-based business owner. Why ruby slippers? Because, according to Drez, “there’s no place like home” for home-based business owners.

Drez — veteran home-based business owner of A Perfect Solution, SBA 2002 Home-Based Business Advocate of the Year and chairwoman of the Home-Based Business Council — created this award to honor an outstanding individual home-based business owner.

With SBA stats now touting 52% of US businesses are home-based, the award will also raise the awareness about the substantial and significant economic, cultural and relational impact of home-based businesses and will continue to raise the bar for home-based business owners.

“Many national small-business awards disillusion me because their financial, revenue and employee criteria preclude most home-based business owners from winning,” said Drez. “But it’s obvious today that home-based businesses play a significant role in our economy, as well as making it possible for people to enjoy the flexible lifestyle they’re looking for today.”

The only requirements for the Ruby Slipper Award are that an applicant must:

1. Be the owner of a home-b

ased business.

2. Have been in current business for at least two years,

3. Be a member of a community, business or women’s association or organization.

The Ruby Slipper Award recipient will be selected by an independent, national judging panel. The application questions include business overview and personal story, leadership of the company, community involvement, the most rewarding aspect of owning a home-based business, the greatest challenge faced by the business owner, and any advice the applicant would give to someone considering starting their own home-based business.

The application fee covers administrative and prize costs. Deadline for applicants is December 1, 2003. The award will be presented at a hot-air balloon ceremony in late January.

All Ruby Slipper Award applicants will receive a free autographed copy of Janet Drez’s book, “Putting The Pieces Together: A Christian Woman’s Guide to a Successful Home-Based Business”.

The winner will receive:

? Round trip airfare to Phoenix, AZ

? One night’s hotel accommodation

? A hot air balloon ride

? Presentation of the Ruby Slipper Award – a hand-crafted, one-of-a-kind ruby slipper created by fabric artist Laurie Fagen of Chandler-based Fagen Designs, herself a home-based business owner.

For more information and to apply, visit www.aperfectsolution.com and click on The Ruby Slipper Award; or call Janet Drez, 480-899-3090.
