How to Choose the Best Home Based Business?
Choosing the best home based business is not as simple as saying ‘I want to sell paintings’ and then magically and instantly doing so. Whilst you may really enjoy painting, you might end up with no sales. There are several online opportunities for those wishing to make money with affiliate programs and this can be a great step to take in order to start a home based career. If you get in with the right companies and have expensive but much wanted products to sell, each time your efforts bring in a sale you are likely to earn a high commission. However, in order to make money with affiliate programs you need to understand that you will have to promote either your web presence or the product sufficiently for any sales to matter. Selling ten items a week that only earn you a pound apiece is not likely to be going to pay your rent.
You can get paid to take online surveys. This is a great top up for those running affiliate programs that may or may not quite make the payment needed. Paid surveys offer an enjoyable way to spend time online and earn some cash without any seriously hard work. If you want to get paid to take online surveys, it is best to find a website that hosts several of the leading survey sites and as many different survey sites as possible. The more survey sites covered, the more paid surveys will arrive in your inbox and be available for you. Participating in surveys is fun; you simply sit on your butt and answer questions. You then are rewarded for your time. This can be up to fifty pounds per survey, although the majority is not that highly paid. By doing a few paid surveys each day, your accounts at the various survey sites will rise and eventually pay out a pleasant sum.
Some survey sites may offer you additional choices, such as the option to be paid to surf. Imagine, simply surfing the net and getting cash for it! Other survey sites may offer options such as sampling products and then giving your opinion on

Best Healthcare Web Site of 2008 to be Named by Web Marketing Association in Annual WebAward Competition
West Simsbury, CT (PRWEB) April 9, 2008
The Web Marketing Association announces the call for entries for its 12th annual international WebAward Competition for Web site development at Web Award Web site. The WebAwards is the standards-defining competition that sets benchmarks for 96 industries, including healthcare web sites, based on the seven criteria of a successful Web site. The deadline for healthcare web sites to enter to be judged is May 31, 2008.
“The healthcare industry is very competitive when it comes to Web development and companies can benefit from the independent evaluation of their online efforts,” said William Rice, President of the Web Marketing Association. “Healthcare web sites are typically strong in terms of content and copywriting due to their role of helping the organization become a trusted medical source. In past years, judges have also scored these sites well in ease of use and design, however they tend to lag in innovation and technology.”
Web sites are judged on seven criteria including design, innovation, content, technology, interactivity, copy writing and ease of use. Each WebAward entry is judged against other entries in its industry category and then against an overall standard of excellence.
All entrants benefit from receiving valuable feedback in terms of their specific scores compared against the average scores for their industry. They also may receive specific comments from the WebAward’s professional judging panel on their Web site development efforts.
Winners of a WebAward in the healthcare category will also receive:
Image plaque or certificate of achievement
Increased visibility for their company
Marketing opportunity to promote the company website to the media
Links to your site from the highly ranked WebAward site to help SEO
Admiration of peers, friends and co-workers
Each year the Web Marketing Association names the Best Healthcare Website based on the scores submitted by the competition judges. Recent winners of the Best Healthcare Web site include:
2007 – Rosetta for LIVE Outside the Bottle
2006 – Critical Mass for Kaiser Permanente Interactive Health Plan Advisor
2005 – DLC Solutions & Siteworx for Cochlear Website
2004 – Roche Diagnostics for Diabetes Assistant
2003 – Columbus Children’s Hospital for Columbus Children’s Hospital web site
2002 – Phoenix Children’s Hospital for Phoenix Children’s Hospital Web site
A complete list of past winners and the entry form for companies who wish to compete for 2008 honors can be found at the Best Healthcare Web site page.
Using the quantifiable data collected from more than 15,000 Web site evaluations over the past decade, the WebAwards has defined and recognized industry-specific benchmarks for successful Web sites in each of the seven judging criteria and released an Internet Standards Assessment Report to detail the findings of the study. A copy of the 2009 Internet Standards Assessment Report, including details regarding the healthcare industry, will be provided to all participants.
Judging for the 2008 WebAwards will take place in June through August and winners will be announced in September. Judges will consist of a select group of Internet professionals who have direct experience designing and managing Web sites,-including members of the media, interactive creative directors, site designers, content providers and webmasters – with an in-depth understanding of the current state-of-the-art in Web site development and technology.
