For many mums who are looking to return to work and who want a flexible career around the family, the choices can be very limited. There is the option of starting a business from scratch, but the risk involved is relatively high; with many small business start-up enterprises never getting off the ground. Mum to three, Sarah Cressall successfully created her own educationally based childrens arts and crafts business that did provide the work from home option and the flexibility to be family focussed with her business. Now, 10 years on. The empathy and understanding that Sarah Cressall has for mums struggling with this challenge has earned her a place in the final of the Encouraging Women into Franchising Award.

I know for most mums having time with your own children is one of the most important things in the world. I know it is for me and with the support of my husband, I was committed to ensuring that I was there for them, states Cressall Now, I am passionate about supporting other mums who want to have the opportunity to have as much fun and time with their own kids as I have with mine. Running a franchise isnt for everyone, but when it matches the needs and values of the individual, with the right support in place, then it really is an exciting opportunity that is worth finding out more. So, for me, its wonderful to gain a place in the final for EWIF award.

Cathy Houston, who inspires imaginations in Preston smiled and said, I still cant quite believe this is now my actual Job. Having had an office job before, this is just brilliant, my classes are filling and I absolutely love it.

I believe one of the reasons for our continuing success is that The Creation Station was designed specially by a mum for a mum. The Creation Station inspires children’s imaginations, and our values and activities are delivered predominantly by local female franchise owners, who share our passion and drive to inspire childrens imaginations, too. Sarah Cressall added, What works really well, is that our franchisees can take their own children to the classes and achieve a great work life balance. Plus the business hours can fit in with school runs, holidays and the all-important sports days, whilst still being able to invite friends to come and play after school.

“Many of the women who run their own Creation Station franchise had never run their own business and often have not heard of a flexible franchise before. The Creation Station Head Office team provides comprehensive training, support and confidence to help women run their own successful Creation Station business, including hand holding and all the session plans and materials.”

As part of Sarah Cressalls commitment to supporting women, The Creation Station provides The Childrens Activity Centre at the National Franchise Exhibitions, and is at Olympia Fri 16th and Saturday 17th March 2012 to encourage families to come along and find out more about franchising. The Creation Station is also sponsoring the Working Mums live Exhibition at The Business Design Centre in Islington on Tuesday 27th March.

To support the core passion of inspiring children’s imaginations, a new store of ideas activities and products was recently launched to share knowledge and tips http://www.thecreationstationstore.co.uk

The ISM4319-M3G-L44 is enabled with Broadcom Corporation’s (http://www.broadcom.com) Wireless Internet Connectivity for Embedded Devices (WICED) architecture. It supports 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity and can be configured using simple commands over the serial port to perform as a client, web server or access point. Simple commands are also used to instruct the module to scan, ping, send, receive, join and leave a network. This significantly reduces the development and integration effort for design engineers to add Wi-Fi connectivity to their products.

The ISM4319-M3G-L44 module hardware includes the Broadcom BCM4319 IEEE 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi System-on-Chip (SoC) component and STMicroelectronics STM32 F-2 Series 32-bit ARM Cortex M3 microcontroller. This STM32 microcontroller hosts the networking application software including the TCP/IP network stack and Inventeks customized AT Command set firmware.

The ISM4319-M3G-L44 is the newest member of Inventeks eS-WiFi module family and doubles the available microcomputer memory based on the STM32F205RG. It is footprint compatible with the ISM4319-M3-L44 eS-WiFi module which utilizes the STM32F103RE. This foot print compatibility allows customers to easily migrate for applications with larger flash and/or RAM memory requirements. STs large on-chip memory density also allows Inventek the flexibility of implementing additional network features in future firmware upgrades.

“The ISM4319-M3G-L44 is an ideal solution for adding connectivity to any product because of its rich feature set coupled with its easy-to-use command set. Customers have been able to demonstrate connectivity in their systems within hours and to complete integration within days. This has definitely shortened our customers design cycles and enabled them to rapidly add Wi-Fi connectivity to their products.” said Dick Bates, Business Manager of Inventek Systems.

“Inventeks eS-WiFi family, based on Broadcoms WICED platform, further simplifies the integration of Wi-Fi connectivity by adding a layer of firmware that controls the wireless functionality through simply AT Commands running on a host processor. Inventeks production-ready eS-WiFi modules offer another way to quickly embed Broadcoms 802.11 connectivity solutions into emerging markets such as connected appliances, smart energy systems and cloud-based health and home management services,” said Brian Bedrosian, Broadcoms Product Line Director, Embedded WLAN.

The STM32 Microcontroller provides a very flexible architecture for Inventeks eS-WiFi family of embedded modules and allows for the scalability needed to meet broad market requirements. The key combination of processing power, on-chip memory, peripheral support and cost provided the exact mix of features that enables this eS-WiFi module: said Arnaud Julienne, Director of GC&SA MMS Product Group at STMicroelectronics.

The ISM4319-M3G-L44 eS-WiFi module development kits are available now from inventory for $ 159 and may be ordered from the Inventek Systems Store.

Many of todays new custom homes incorporate open floor planning, creating a seamless, luxurious space where guests and hosts, as well as parents and children can interact without limitations. However, even older homes can be renovated to create an airy and open space by removing walls and widening passages.

Like many homeowners, Loretta and John Iacono, loved the idea of having an open kitchen for entertaining and family gatherings, but cringed every time they looked at their old fashioned, dated kitchen. When the couple couldnt stand it anymore, they called Daves Remodeling.

My kitchen was very old and all the cabinets were falling apart, Loretta says, adding that their 2800 square foot, four bedroom, three bath San Bernardino home was built in the 1940s. The entrance into the kitchen was very small. We wanted to extend the dining area into the kitchen to create a more spacious feeling.

By removing a wall, Daves Remodeling reconfigured the room so the kitchen was sandwiched between a dining room on one side and a breakfast area on the other. The remodel transformed the kitchen into an airy and open space and allowed traffic to flow easily between the three rooms. However, the work wasnt without challenges.

The job required replacing a load bearing wall with a structural beam to support the second story, explains Dave Telem, a general contractor and owner of Daves Remodeling. In addition, the floors were uneven and needed to be leveled before the remodeling began.

The renovation included custom granite countertops, a glass tile back splash, and new custom cabinetry, lighting, flooring, and appliances. In addition, a kitchen island on wheels added style, prep space, versatility, and storage. The final results were stunning.

We enjoy educating our customers, assisting them with the design, and helping them choose colors, adds Dave, who is on-site and hands-on for all their projects. We keep in constant communication so customers know exactly whats going on and can keep track of the progress of their project.

Dave gave us a lot of good ideas and his workers were really easy to work with and on time, Loretta says. The kitchen is so much roomier and its beautiful. We plan to do more remodeling in the future and will use Dave again. Id definitely recommend him to others.

More Work At Home Press Releases

Port Washington, N.Y. (PRWEB) March 13, 2012

According to The NPD Group, a leading market research company, the fourth-generation (4G) smartphone market grew from 6 percent in the fourth quarter (Q4) of 2010 to 35 percent in Q4 2011. The most popular 4G network technology in smartphones was HSPA+, at 22 percent of smartphone sales. The only 4G network technology offered by AT&T until 2011 and still the only 4G technology offered by T-Mobile, HSPA+ received a tremendous boost in Q4, because it was the only 4G technology supported by the popular iPhone 4S.

One year after Verizons launch of the first commercially deployed LTE network, LTE-enabled handsets accounted for 7 percent of the smartphone market; however, consumers are exhibiting a strong association between LTE and 4G. More than a quarter (26 percent) of consumers who purchased LTE phones were specifically seeking 4G technology in 2011, compared to just 9 percent of all smartphone buyers.

HSPA+, which has combined high throughput with practical power efficiency, has been a compelling evolutionary 4G upgrade option for carriers upgrading GSM networks, said Ross Rubin, executive director, Connected Intelligence for The NPD Group. With all major U.S. carriers committing to LTE as their 4G future, it is clearly the cellular network technology that will determine the baseline for the next generation of advanced smartphones.

The percentage of smartphones supporting WiMax, the LTE alternative launched by Sprint in the summer of 2009, ended the year at 6 percent of the market after hitting a high of 10 percent in the third quarter of 2011. Based on The NPD Groups monthly Mobile Phone Track service, the top-selling mobile phones for each 4G technology in 2011 were as follows:

????LTE: HTC Thunderbolt
????WiMax: HTC EVO
????HSPA+: Apple iPhone 4S

Information this press release is from Mobile Phone Track and Smartphone Track, both of which report on the activities of U.S. consumers, age 18 and older, who reported purchasing a mobile phone or smartphone. NPD does not track corporate/enterprise mobile phone purchases.
